Moonlit Tiger.

Late Joseon folk painters often portrayed tigers not as fearsome beasts, but with an almost playful, half-smiling expression. This tiger steps out of that tradition and into a moonlit sky rendered in mother-of-pearl.

Nacre light

Mountains, stripes and peonies all carry the shifting iridescence of mother-of-pearl inlay. On fabric it reads as a slow gradient.

An empty sky

The top third is almost nothing. That emptiness lets the density below breathe and keeps the print from crowding the shoulders.

Now, not then

Hanbok with chunky sneakers and tinted glasses. Not a museum piece — someone walking through Seoul tonight.

On the garment

Small in front, loud in back.

The left chest carries the brush mark at 3.75" wide. The full scene sits across the back at 15" tall — roughly shoulder blade to waist on a medium, identical on all three styles.

The mark

A brush-drawn Korean line reads 달 아래, 범, “tiger beneath the moon,” with DALBEOM. set beneath it. The full stop becomes the moon.

Four colorways

The mark shifts. The artwork remains.

The mark is only ever printed in one of these four. Never black, never white, never a gradient.

The mark in use

Clear space on all sides equals the height of the Korean line. Minimum printed width 45 mm; below that, omit the DALBEOM wordmark.

See it applied

On the name

Beom is the old native Korean word for tiger, plainer and older than the borrowed one most people reach for now. Dal is moon. Dalbeom is the tiger under the moon, the animal that turns up again and again in Korean folk painting once the sun goes down.

Those painted tigers are never frightening. The eyes are too big, they are usually half smiling, and now and then one is holding a pipe. Drawing a dangerous thing without making it menacing felt worth copying. We wanted clothes that behave the same way — quiet from across the room, talkative up close.

One story at a time

There is no seasonal collection. We draw one thing — this one is called Moonlit Tiger — put it on three garments, and sell that until the next drawing is ready. Everything is printed after you order it, so there is no warehouse, no end-of-season sale, and no box of unsold shirts in storage.

The trade is that you wait about a week. We think that is fair.

From Texas

Dalbeom is made in Frisco, Texas by someone who grew up in Korea and works in the United States. Whatever sits in the gap between those two places tends to end up in the clothes.

Finding your size

Everything is cut boxy. Your usual size hangs loose; go down one to wear it closer.

All measurements taken flat across a single layer. Tee: garment dyeing allows up to 2" of variance on width and length. Hoodie: up to 1". Both are within the mill's tolerance.

How to measure

Lay a shirt you already like flat and measure straight across an inch below the armpit. Match that to the chest column; size up if you want it boxier.
Size up. At this weight a tight shoulder is uncomfortable in a way a loose one never is. Expect about a centimetre of length shrinkage after the first wash.
One free size exchange per order, unworn, within 30 days. The replacement is printed fresh so add another three to five days.

Getting it, keeping it

Nothing is printed until you order. Allow two to three business days to make and three to five to ship — about a week door to door. Everything leaves from Texas.
Free on every order — the postage is already in the price. Sales tax is calculated at checkout from your shipping address. New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Minnesota do not tax everyday clothing at all.
Unworn items go back within 30 days. Misprints or wrong items are remade immediately — send a photo and skip the return.

What the server does here

Stripe fires checkout.session.completed. The handler writes the event id into stripe_events first so a duplicate delivery cannot create a second order, saves the line into orders and order_items, then sends the variant's pod_variant_id to the print partner and stores the returned fulfilment id. No stock is decremented — there is none.
